Wedding Wish-List Wednesday: One and Only Ocean Club

“You are my one and only.”

It’s probably one of the most common ways of referring to a romantic partner.  But did you know that there is actually a resort called The One and Only Ocean Club?

Located in Nassau, Bahamas, the One and Only Ocean Club is an absolutely perfect place to tie the knot!  From tropical beaches to romantic gardens, there are several wonderful options to choose from at this beautiful place.  “From the terraced steps of a 12th Century Augustinian cloister adorned in tropical bloom to the pristine white sand beaches and tranquil Bahamian blue waters,” it is definitely a place I want to photograph a bride and groom!

And yes, you read that right.  There are cloisters at the One and Only Ocean Club!  Beautiful stone columns perfect for a ceremony setting.

Quite a stunning place to hold a wedding ceremony, wouldn’t you say?

(The answer to that question is “yes,” by the way.  😉  It’s perfect.)

The Cloisters look down on the Versailles-inspired gardens — a little touch of that classic European elegance — and further views of Nassau Harbor and the sea beyond.

The Versailles Gardens, adorned in tropical flowers, combine the look of a sculpted terraced garden with the vibrant and colorful fun of a beach setting.

Go ahead and relax on the Beach Deck, an excellent place for mingling.  Or have a cocktail hour on the Pool Terrace.

And the One and Only Ocean Club will pull out all the stops for your wedding guests!  Imagine a welcome party with steel pan drums, white string lights, and canapes.  Take a ride aboard a luxury yacht with your wedding party for a truly unique experience.  Include a fabulous fireworks display.

And then there’s my personal favorite addition: The Junkanoo Rush: an exclusively Bahamas experience with stilt dancers, street dancers, clowns and acrobat artists in spectacular costumes made of crepe paper and masks of coloured cloth and leather, all accompanied by powerful rhythms beaten on traditional goatskin drums, cowbells, bugles, horns, whistles and conch shells.

If that doesn’t sound like a party, I don’t know what does!
