I spent all of last week enjoying a long-overdue visit with my parents in North Carolina. As I was there, it occurred to me that I have had a wedding wish-list item there that’s been on my list for years! The famous Biltmore Estate in Asheville.
I remember in my school days taking a trip out to this gorgeous and historic place and being absolutely thrilled with it. Even at the time, I couldn’t help thinking, “Wouldn’t this be a great place to hold a wedding?!”
And of course the answer is yes. Yes it would.
Built by George Washington Vanderbilt at the turn of the 20th century, this palatial beauty was designed as an escape and a fantasy. And it really looks like something right out of a storybook. It’s like a French chateau right in the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
And what better place to have an elegant wedding than at one of America’s very own castles?
The Biltmore Estate offers a wide variety of options for their brides, to host the perfect wedding gala. Enjoy sweeping views of the beautiful mountains. Ride in a horse-drawn carriage through the gardens and terraces to arrive in style. Enjoy the Italian Gardens with the mansion as a stunning backdrop, or take some private time in the Walled Garden with its manicured flower beds. No matter the landscape, you will enjoy incredible beauty and detail.
You can get married at the Conservatory amongst a variety of exotic plants, as well as the butterfly garden!
And you know there has to be a ballroom! The Lioncrest Ballroom is a fantastic place to host your Biltmore Estate wedding, with its vaulted ceiling and wrought-iron chandeliers. Lights hover over the Lioncrest Veranda, making it the perfect evening location.
And, for that added touch of awe-inspiring beauty…they’ll even light up the chateau at night!
